This is a film about a bunch of messy and derailed 25-year-olds who, \ndespite everything, manage to establish themselves and break with \nexpectations and go their own way. With music as their lifeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, Union Carbide Productions must be seen as a cult band from \nGothenburg’s more affluent suburbs. Few bands in the late eighties had \nthe opportunity to tour abroad, playing the Marquee club in London and \nCBGB’s in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In THE GOLDEN AGE, we follow the story from beginning to end. What \nhappened to this messy band that, according to singer Ebbot Lundberg, \n”went off the rails before anything really happened” and that, according\n to guitarist Bj\u00f6rn Olsson, treated the tours like ”skiing trips, only \nthe skis had been replaced by guitars”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One could also see the film as a time capsule filled with fantastic \narchives from the late eighties and early nineties, a time that was in \nmany ways a turning point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2017, the band reunites and this time draws a large audience, but \nperhaps the reunion is above all a way to heal old wounds and apologise \nfor everything that went wrong thirty years ago?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
